Sequences without per-contact pricing

ActiveCampaign bills more as your list grows. OCCS bills $0 per contact.

OCCS Sequences cover the same email + SMS automation surface: triggers, branches, quiet hours, A/B steps. The difference is the meter — ActiveCampaign's price is bolted to contact count; OCCS is plan-flat and you bring your own Postmark/SMTP for sends. A list that doubles in size doubles ActiveCampaign's bill and changes nothing on the OCCS line.

OCCS

Sequences ship on Starter ($25), Growth ($69), Scale ($249). Your bill doesn't move when your list grows; only your Postmark/SMTP provider's flat rate moves.

ActiveCampaign

ActiveCampaign Starter starts at $15/mo for 1,000 contacts and scales by contact count — $93/mo at 5K, $169/mo at 10K, $364/mo at 25K. Plus is $49+/mo with similar contact scaling. Pricing tied to list size, not send volume.

ActiveCampaign's bill scales with contact count regardless of send frequency. OCCS Growth is flat; Postmark's published BYO pricing adds $0 at 1K, ~$15 at 10K (100K-email tier), ~$100 at 50K (1M-email tier) assuming one send per contact per month.

Feature-by-feature

Honest comparison. Where ActiveCampaign ships the same capability we say so — the moat is in the rows where they don't.

Feature OCCS ActiveCampaign
Email + SMS sequence builder
Conditional branching (if/then)
TCPA quiet-hours enforcement on SMS
STOP + unsubscribe handling
Per-step A/B with auto-route-to-winner
AI-generated step copy in brand voice
Personalized video tokens inside sequence steps
Shopify abandoned-cart trigger
Booking-event triggers (confirmed/no-show/done)
Per-contact pricing
Built-in pipeline/deals CRM

Bottom line

ActiveCampaign Plus and OCCS overlap heavily on sequence mechanics — branches, triggers, quiet hours. The forks: ActiveCampaign ships a real deals/pipeline CRM (we don't); OCCS ships AI copy, A/B-with-auto-route, video personalization, and a list-size-agnostic bill. If pipeline management is the reason you bought AC, keep it. If it's just sequences, the per-contact tax is paying for a feature you're not using.

Common questions

Can I import my ActiveCampaign sequences?
Not in one click — automation logic doesn't migrate cleanly between platforms (different trigger names, different conditional grammar). What we offer: import your contacts + tags via CSV or Google Sheets, then use AI to draft equivalent OCCS Sequences from a brief description of what each AC automation does.
Does OCCS have a built-in deals pipeline?
No — OCCS is a marketing-side CRM (lists, lead scoring, dynamic segments). For full sales pipelines (deal stages, forecasting, rep quotas) keep your CRM and pair via Zapier or our outbound webhooks.
What about transactional email?
Sequences are for marketing automation. For transactional (order receipts, password resets, etc.), most teams keep those firing from the application directly via Postmark — that's the same Postmark account you'd already have configured for OCCS. We don't try to be the transactional layer.
